A Tad Bit About Me
Hailing from Kolkata, India, I am a Computer Science Engineering sophomore student at Manipal University, Jaipur, and will be graduating in 2023. I take a keen interest and have good hands-on experience in the field of Deep Learning, Machine Learning, Computer Vision, Image and Video Processing, and Multimodal Analytics. My undergraduate research experience to date encompasses fields such as AI in Healthcare and Biomedical Image Processing, Representation Learning, Human Action Recognition, Zero-Shot Learning, and Generative Modeling. And I am deeply intrigued to delve deep into new and unexplored fields of problem-solving using AI and thereby enhance my learning curve.
I'm a fan of Slow Science

Organizing research and project building workshops and guiding the students for research publications
Organizing research conferences and paper presentation events in the university premises.

Undergraduate Research Assistant at Jadavpur University, Kolkata
July 2020 - Present
1. As an intern, my domain of research was biomedical image processing and analysis. I worked on a project implementation which dealt with breast cancer classification using deep learning and ensemble techniques.
Journal Paper – “Fuzzy Ensemble of Deep Learning Models using Coalition Game and Information Theory for Breast Cancer Histology Classification”, submitted at Expert Systems and Application, Elsevier ( Impact factor: 6.954) (paper under review).
Research Supervisor – Dr. Ram Sarkar, Dept of CSE, Professor at Jadavpur University, India
After I completed my tenure as an intern, i joined as an RA at CMATER Lab, working for a much-prolonged duration as a deep learning and computer vision researcher, my areas of research focus in the field of biomedical imaging, Explainable AI, and human action recognition. I worked on a couple of research projects and publications in the same, which shall get published soon. I worked for two projects in the field of COVID-19 screening using deep learning, ensemble learning, and feature selection methods.
Journal Papers:
“Choquet Integral and Coalition Game-based Ensemble of Deep Learning Models for COVID-19 Screening from Chest X-ray Images”, submitted at IEEE Journal for Biomedical and Health Informatics (Impact Factor: 5.772) (paper under review)

My Projects
Work Portfolio

A Two-tier Feature Selection Method using Coalition Game and Nystrom Sampling for Screening COVID-19 from Chest X-Ray Images
A novel two-tier feature selection method, which increases the accuracy of the overall classification model used for screening COVID-19 CXRs. We have used CUR decomposition and Nystrom sampling to further reduce the feature space. To check the efficacy of this two-tier feature selection method, we have applied it to the features extracted by three standard deep learning models, namely VGG16, Xception and InceptionV3, where the features have been extracted from the CXR images of COVID-19 datasets.

Community Service
Lending a Helping Hand
No matter how busy things get, I believe in making time to give back and lend a helping hand to those in need. Below are some of the groups and activities I’m regularly involved with, and the role I’ve played in each. Selfless service is the path towards salvation🌺

April 2021
Team lead @ COVID RELIEF MUJ
Our college team has prepared a verified and reliable Pan-India Compilation by clubbing all the good and verified pan India covid resources which were scattered online. This has helped several people till now when the second wave of COVID-19 pandemic is ravaging across the nation, taking toll over several lives. Serving all your emergency requirements. Has recieved an overwhelming outreach till now !!
What we are doing :
Our MUJ relief team has worked in three prime areas during such a crisis : 1) covid resource compilation, 2) one-to-one support team catering individuals , 3) making our own useful website/apps so that people may benefit from them.
▪️Collaborated with Indian Student Associations at Carnegie Mellon University(CMU), Oxford, UC Berkeley, and Jadavpur University Kolkata for a joint COVID India Endeavor

MUJ Student Action for COVID Relief in India
"Life engenders life. Energy creates energy. It is by spending oneself that one becomes rich.”
😔 Thousands of people died, lost their dear ones, and their livelihoods. These people are starving for food and struggling through these tough times.
The second wave sheered the course of the pandemic, leading to devastation.
It's stormy now but rain doesn't last forever,
Giving is the greatest act of grace :)
Let's lend a helping hand and stand as unity for humanity 🤝🏻😇
❄️ MUJ ACM Student Chapter in collaboration with DonateKart, Aperture, IEEE SB MUJ, Coreografia, Cinefilia and MUJ Covid Relief Group calls for a donation drive on the DonateKart platform.
❇️The team is giving fundamental clinical and non-clinical supplies, food medicines, etc to assist the ones who need it.
Started our own university fundraiser for providing relief in the form of food and essential groceries to low wage-earners and people below the poverty line in India

Aug 2019
Fundraising Volunteer and Bake Sale Organizer
Gramiksha is an NGO formed by students for the students. We aim to educate people in villages & promote education among poverty ridden & ignorant sector
Being a part of Gramiksha at Manipal University Jaipur, we hosted a fundraising drive by organizing a Bake Sale in 2019.
The purpose was to collect voluntary donations from people at various tourist locations of Jaipur like the Jal Mahal and Amer fort. In return for the donations, the people were given a muffin as a token of appreciation. The motive was to raise funds for the education of underprivileged children.

Nov 2019
Hospitality Manager for Blood Donation Camp 2019
A blood donation camp was organized in Manipal University Jaipur on 15-11-2019 from 08:00 AM to 6:00 PM under the banner of Rotract-Green Club with a vision of providing red support to the needy people and social welfare. The total units of 1703 were collected from student, teaching and non-teaching staff of Manipal University Jaipur. Prof.(Dr.) Sandeep Joshi event coordinator organized the event with the support from students volunteers and faculty members. The venue of the event was the Old food court. A team of doctors and nurses from the 15 different hospitals had come. President Prof. (Dr.) G.K Prabhu inaugurated the Camp. Blood donation by President Prof. (Dr.) G.K. Prabhu was an encouraging moment for all. In this camp, the overwhelming number of volunteers of Manipal University Jaipur has participated with Vivacity. Camp was duly appreciated by hospitals that were present there.
